Joe Neglia, MD, MPH
Joseph Neglia is the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Physician-in-Chief of M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital and a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. He treats children with blood disorders, retinoblastoma and brain tumors. He specializes in providing care to long-term survivors of pediatric cancer. He is a faculty member in the Divisions of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Epidemiology and Community Health along with being a professor in the School of Public Health. His work has focused on the long term outcomes of children with cancer. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his contributions to the field of childhood cancer long-term effects. Dr. Neglia is a member of the steering committee of the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS), a multi-institutional decade’s long study and past Chair of the Second Neoplasms working group of the CCSS. He has chaired the Late Effects Committee of the Children’s Oncology Group and currently serves as an advisor to this committee. He has been named a “Top Doctor” by U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek, Mpls. St Paul Magazine, Minnesota Monthly Magazine and received the Lifetime Achievement Award, Leaders in Health Care from Minnesota Business Magazine.
